Because of its popularity, securing a glamping site in or near the park can be daunting, with Yosemite lodging known to book out up to 12 months in advance. We’ve been there and learned the hard way, being relegated to subpar accommodation due to last-minute planning.
This guide is the result of personal experience and hours and hours of research. It includes the nine best Yosemite glamping options in and near the park. Locations cater to a variety of budgets and travel styles, and properties offer varying amenities, ranging from memory foam mattresses to ensuite bathrooms, on-site yoga, and kids’ forest schools. Many glamping spots outside the park are pet-friendly, and all glamping sites are either inside the park or within easy reach of a park entrance.

Location: Yosemite Valley
A fantastic hub for glampers who want to be based in Yosemite Valley (and one of our favorite Yosemite lodging options), Curry Village’s canvas tent cabins capture the communal atmosphere of a campground without the hassle of pitching a tent. Amenities are basic, but certain tents have heaters for winter glampers. Despite being the largest lodging facility in the Valley, Curry Village’s stellar location and reasonable rates mean spots fill up quickly. Try to book 10 to 12 months in advance!

Housekeeping Camp

Don’t bother pitching a tent – Housekeeping Camp is the best of both worlds, combining glamping and camping with three-sided concrete structures with canvas roofs and privacy curtains. What makes this site shine is its location right in the heart of the Valley alongside the Merced River, where glampers can dig their toes in the sand and take in incredible views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome.

Tuolumne Meadows Lodge

Location: Tuolumne Meadows (60 miles from Yosemite Valley)
Located along Hwy 120, Tuolumne Meadows Lodge sits about 9,000 feet above sea level and was one of John Muir’s favorite areas of the park. To accommodate for the high altitude, tent cabins are stocked with lanterns and wood-burning stoves (firewood included!). A sure highlight is the family-style restaurant, where tables seating five to eight create a laid-back atmosphere conducive to swapping hiking tips and connecting with fellow campers.

White Wolf Lodge

Set along Tioga Road, White Wolf Lodge is known for its intimate size, secluded location, and added bonus of uncrowded showers and bathrooms! Towels, bedding, and heating are included in each of its 24 canvas tents, while an additional four traditional cabins are equipped with electricity and private bathrooms. Some Yosemite veterans consider this to be Yosemite’s best-kept secret when it comes to lodging in the park – and we’d have to agree with them!

Yosemite High Sierra Camps

2024 Season Dates: Guided and unguided trips will run between July 4th and September 7th, 2024
Location: Yosemite High Country (departing from Tuolumne Meadows)
The five Yosemite High Sierra Camps are spaced six to ten miles apart from one another and serve as backcountry base camps for glampers wanting to plan a multi-day adventure with just a day pack. Due to exceptionally high demand, reservations are determined by a lottery system, and applications are accepted each September and October for the following year (i.e., glampers will apply in Sept/Oct 2024 for Summer 2025. Each camp has its own unique vibe and appeal, and the route offers some of the most breathtaking views in the park.
2024 Season Info: The 2024 guided loop will begin at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge and travel to Glen Aulin, May Lake, and Sunrise Lake before finishing back at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge for a five-night loop. Unguided trips can vary depending on length and preference. Vogelsang and Merced Lake Camps will remain closed in 2024.
Rates for 2024 guided trip are $1403 for adults and $970 for children. Unguided rates vary.

Each unit has a Tempurpedic mattress and organic linens, and Airstreams are equipped with private spa-inspired bathrooms and walk-in showers. There’s a communal clubhouse and various on-site amenities on the property, including a heated pool, sundeck, lounge areas, a restaurant, and a general store. With optional activities ranging from guided national park tours to a kid’s forest school and complimentary yoga, you really can’t go wrong.

Wildhaven Yosemite

Location: Mariposa (33 miles to Arch Rock Entrance; 45 miles from Yosemite Valley)
Wildhaven is the newest Yosemite glamping addition in the area and sits on a sweeping 36-acre hillside with views of the Sierra Nevada. The property is just 45 minutes from the national park entrance and offers numerous communal spaces, as well as perks like on-site wine tasting, live music, complimentary yoga, and hiking trails. The safari-style glamping tents are custom-designed to be open and airy with comfortable beds, electricity, and heaters. As an added bonus, Wildhaven Yosemite is dog-friendly!

The closest campground/glampground to Yosemite’s Hwy 140 Arch Rock Entrance, Indian Flat is the perfect option for glampers on a budget who aren’t able to snag a space at Curry Village. Set near the Merced River, it’s easy to cool off on warm summer days, and the property features an onsite swimming pool, gift shop, and warm showers. Each tent cabin comes with a queen bed, twin bunk, kitchenette, and private bath. Furry friends are more than welcome!

Yosemite Lakes Yurts

Set along Hwy 120 near Yosemite’s west entrance, Thousand Trails Yosemite Lakes has campsites, RV sites, cabins, and glamping yurts. Each yurt sleeps four to five and comes with a queen-size bed and a futon or bunkbed, as well as a private bathroom, kitchen, dining area, heating, and A/C. Guests can choose between a riverside, hillside, or meadow location. The Tuolomne River passes through the property, making for great swimming and fishing. Other onsite amenities include a clubhouse, general store, laundry facilities, and various activities like volleyball, basketball, mini golf, and shuffleboard. The location is a family favorite, and many groups return year after year.
