When Does Park City Resort Open and Close?
Park City typically opens for skiing in mid-November and closes in mid-April, weather permitting. For the 2024/2025 ski season, Park City Mountain will open on November 22nd and close sometime in April, conditions permitting. Deer Valley Resort is estimated to open on November 30th and close in mid-April, conditions permitting.
How Far in Advance Should I Book Lodging for Sundance?
Sundance Film Festival usually occurs at the end of January or the beginning of February, but dates vary. As soon as they are announced, accommodation goes quickly, so it’s best to book as far as possible if you hope to attend. In 2025, Sundance will take place from January 23rd to February 2nd.
Which Park City Ski Resort is Best?
As with most things in life, it depends on what you’re looking for. Deer Valley is a skiers-only resort (no snowboards) that provides a more upscale experience with excellent facilities and great terrain options for all levels. Skiers can enjoy more than 100 runs across six mountains, and there is a daily limit on admissions to ensure lift lines don’t get too long.
Alternatively, Park City Mountain is the largest ski resort in the USA (with more than 330 runs spread across 17 mountains) and is open to skiers and snowboarders. Visitors can base themselves at Park City Mountain Village or Canyons Village within the resort, and both areas offer great runs ranging from novice to advanced. This resort also has the added advantage of being right next to Main Street, home to several good restaurants and shops.
